When hardware is the right answer
Cabling and bracing supports a structural defect that cannot be pruned away — most often a co-dominant union with included bark on a tree too valuable to lose. A cable installed high in the canopy limits how far the two stems can move apart in wind; a brace rod goes through the union itself and resists the split directly.
It is not permanent and it is not maintenance-free. Hardware needs inspecting annually and the tree keeps growing around it. What it buys is time — often decades — on a tree whose replacement cost and shade value dwarf the installation.
Hardware does not fix a hollow tree
Cabling supports a union. It does nothing for advanced internal decay, root-plate failure or a compromised trunk, and installing it on a tree with those problems creates false confidence about something that is still going to come down. The assessment comes before the hardware.

Cabling & Bracing — frequently asked
Do you clean up afterwards?
Completely. Brush chipped and hauled, wood removed or stacked as you prefer, ground raked and blown off. We walk the site with you before we leave. Clean-up is included in the quoted price — it is not a line item that appears later.
Do you give free estimates in North Texas?
Yes. Someone comes out, looks at the tree, and you get a written price with the scope spelled out — no charge and no obligation. We do not quote tree work over the phone from a description, because the things that change the price (access, what is underneath, how the wood has to come out) are not visible from a description.
Do you offer discounts for multiple trees?
Effectively yes — the second tree on the same visit costs less than it would on its own because setup, travel and haul-off are already covered. If you have several trees needing attention, get them all quoted at once rather than one at a time.
What payment methods do you take?
All standard forms — card, check, cash and bank transfer. On larger jobs a deposit is normal with the balance due on completion, after you have seen the finished work. We do not ask for payment in full before starting.
Are you licensed and insured to work in North Texas?
We carry general liability and workers' compensation, and we will send the certificate before you book — not after. Texas does not license tree services at state level, which is exactly why the insurance question matters: if an uninsured crew damages your property or injures someone on it, that lands on your homeowner's policy.
What happens if it rains on my scheduled day?
We reschedule. Saturated ground means ruts and, more importantly, compromised anchor points and footing — nobody should be aloft in a tree in a North Texas thunderstorm. You get a call, not a no-show.
Will you damage my lawn or sprinkler system?
We plate or mat soft ground before anything heavy crosses it, and we ask you to flag sprinkler heads and low-voltage lighting, which do not show up on a utility locate. Some rutting is possible on saturated ground — if it happens, repairing it is on us.
How soon can you get to my property in North Texas?
Estimates in North Texas are usually within a couple of business days. Scheduled work typically runs one to two weeks out depending on season — spring and post-storm periods are busiest. Hazard situations get moved to the front of the queue.
